usain bolt
assign late passes where you will, but raphael saadiq was the best musical discovery i made in 2008. there's no place for cellulite in dude's demeanor. in the hallowed tradition of black music and marlon brando, raphy ascends the throne of blue collar swank, most coveted oxymoron in all the realm.
any dipping of the toe into "hardcore" screamo or its mongrel cousins yields epiphany of feeling corrupted by wrongful use. disconcertingly grating, very bad.
passion should be groovy. i dance to this and the rest of "the way i see it" all the time. i probably don't dance very well. for the modern suburban(wh)ite, though, culture imbibes most tidily with the conduit of contact high. this song can make a man change his path.
